Platonic: Mission Impossible? I am a x year old, professionally employed female looking for a friend. I searched for "the one"...and chased my way into a state of frustration. Too many disrespectful first dates with sex as the only agenda item. I have more value than that, and I happen to know there are men out there that are like minded. But, where to find them? Blind date set ups are just too awkward -- too much pressure. Bars and clubs are out of the question...I gave up . Work colleagues --- ummm...professional . I like my job and want to keep it. That leaves dating websites and chance encounters...sigh....it's too exasperating at my age. Soooooooooo....I thought to myself...what is it I really want? My answer was companionship. , great conversation, intellectual challenge, emotional support. The romantic was next on the list. With that being said, I concluded that perhaps I really am just craving a super awesome, supportive best friend who happens to be male. Maybe I am living in the "When Met " mindset -- that maybe a friendship needs to be solidified before a real, mature love can be entertained. At this point, I feel compelled to tell you that I am not an unhappy, lonely spinster with no xxx who loves me. I have friends, colleagues, and family that enhance my life. I am smart, hard working, generous and yes...a bit jaded. That just comes with the territory of getting in my own way, and ending up in unhealthy relationships. So, that's kinda my story.
